Crushers lose at home to Wild Things, 4-2

Washington scored three runs in the fifth and that was enough as the Wild Things defeated the host Crushers, 4-2, on Aug. 25.

Lake Erie (35-53) attempted a comeback with runs in the seventh and ninth innings but it wasn’t enough.

Jiandido Tromp (2 for 4, run scored) and Jarrod Watkins each had RBI hits for the Crushers.

Darrien Ragins started for Lake Erie and took the loss. He pitched 4.1 innings, allowed one hit, two earned runs, walked three and struck out six. His ERA is 1.86 this season.

The teams continue their weekend series in Avon on Aug. 26. First pitch is 6:05 p.m.
