Monsters beat Utica, 4-2, for fifth win in a row

The Monsters won their fifth game in a row, 4-2, over visiting Utica on Dec. 2.

Rookie James Malatesta scored two goals for Cleveland, giving him three for the season. Brendan Gaunce and Carson Meyer also tallied for the Monsters. Meyers’ goal, an empty-netter, gave him nine for the season. Meyer also had an assist, and Owen Sillinger had two assists.

Daniil Tarasov had 22 saves.

The first-place Monsters improved to 13-4-1-0. The teams face off again at 12:30 p.m., Dec. 3.
