Monsters drop 2-1 decision to Belleville in overtime

Host Belleville’s Angus Crookshank scored 1 minute, 5 seconds into overtime, giving the Senators a 2-1 victory over the Monsters on Nov. 12.

The Monsters had won two in a row before the setback and are 7-3-1-0 on the season.

Jake Christiansen gave the Monsters a 1-0 lead 5:06 into the game with his third goal of the season. Tyler Angle and Nick Blankenburg assisted. Blankenburg has eight assists this year.

Belleville’s Egor Sokolov scored on a power play with 59 seconds remaining in the opening period. The game remained tied at 1-1 until Crookshank’s game-winner in OT.

Cleveland’s Pavel Cajan saved 34 of the 36 shots he faced in 61:05.

The Monsters welcome Rochester to Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse for two games, Nov. 16 and 18.
