Providence broke open a close game after two periods with a four-goal outburst in the third en route to a 7-3 win over the host Monsters.

The Bruins (3-3-1-2) led, 1-0, after the first period then made it 2-0 early in the second before Cleveland (5-3-0-0) answered with two straight goals to tie the game at 2.

Carson Meyer scored his fifth goal of the season on the power play to make it 2-1. Then Luca Del Bel Belluz scored with a man advantage to tie the game. Nick Blankenburg added a third-period goal for the Monsters.

The Bruins’ Luke Toporowski led his team’s offense with two goals.

It was a rough night in net for Cleveland goalie Jet Greaves, who allowed all seven goals on 32 shots.

Cleveland and Providence play again Nov. 4 at Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse. Face off is 7:05 p.m.
