It’s the festive season of family, friendship and food.
Local catering company Cousa Mamas, owned and operated by cousins Cori Anter and Jessica Anter, highlights just that.
Truly food from the heart.
Growing up in Italian and Lebanese households, these cousins are no stranger to large family gatherings with love and laughter being shared over delicious meals.
Delivering within a 35-mile radius of downtown Cleveland, Cousa Mamas offers weekly meal prep, custom catering, and party ready platters.
Alaina Sliwinski, of Avon Lake, said she really enjoys the food from Cousa Mamas.
“Coming home to Avon Lake after a long travel day from New York City last year, Cousa Mama’s Thanksgiving Mac and Cheese bake truly felt like it was something my grandma made,” Sliwinski said. “Perfect side to an amazing day back in town.”
Although the women specialize in Mediterranean fare, their website also highlights many other cultures’ cuisines made to order.
Cori said she is so thankful “to be able to create this business with someone I hold so close, is a treasure within itself.”
“But, to have created a little home and family within our kitchen with our amazing team, is something we really treasure,” she said.
Striving to be a family-owned company with a positive impact on Northeast Ohio, these hardworking cousins produce nearly 550 pre-prepped meals every Monday for individuals, families and businesses.
Already, they have hit their five-year goal in the two short years they have operated.
Cousa Mamas takes pride in giving locals the opportunity to have a few extra moments to truly enjoy a delicious and well curated set of rotating weekly meals during their busy lives.
On the catering side of business, Cori and Jessica strive for the community to know their hearts through the show stopping displays that bring unforgettable special events to the next level.
Highlighting their community benefit Cori stated, “we realized that there was not only a need for health conscious, flavorful meals delivered to working Clevelanders, but that there was a huge desire for the colorful, creative catering that we grew up watching our mothers and grandmothers showcase every occasion they could.”
In the future, their goals for local expansion surround the fact they just started to tap into high-end personal chef services, whether it’s full time or just an intimate special event.
“We think (this) could really expand our business to (highlight) our creativity in a different way, and hopefully, connect other chefs within the (area) with great families in need of more customized services and experiences,” Cori said.
She said her favorite items to highlight during the holiday season, like any true host, are the delectable, sharable charcuterie and harvest boards.
“They feature fresh vegetable crudites and a number of dips that we grew up sharing around our table around the holidays,” Cori said.
When asked what her favorite menu item is, she responded, “that’s a tough one. We are constantly rotating our meal prep menus, but would probably say anything meatball related; we make a great meatball.”
Their arancini balls from the catering menu also are a wildly popular item.
