Lorain City Schools officials announced that classes for Jan. 17 are canceled, according to a news release.
Forecasted cold weather, with expected frigid temperatures in the single digits and a negative wind chill during the morning commute, is not ideal for our students and families, the release said.
“Therefore, there will be no school on Wednesday, Jan.17, for all students and staff in Lorain City Schools,” the release said.
Events scheduled for Jan. 16 continued, according to the release.

Oberlin City School District also will be closed Jan. 17 due to inclement weather, according to a news release.
“We will keep our families updated on after-school events tomorrow as we assess the weather,” the release said.
