The Lorain County Port Authority announced it is having two special board meetings at 6 p.m., Jan. 10 and 11, according to a news release.
The meetings will include an “executive session for purposes of discussing property disposition and economic development” and “action on items discussed in executive session, if any,” the release said.
The County Port Authority, located at 226 Middle Ave. in downtown Elyria, did not disclose exactly what will be discussed behind closed doors.
There is no apparent plan for anything to be voted on at these meetings.
The big news story surrounding the Lorain County Port Authority over the last year has been the purchase of property at Midway Mall in Elyria and the subsequent purchase proposals received from four different companies.
The County Port Authority is expected to narrow down the proposals from four to two in the near future, but there is no word on if that relates to the special board meetings taking place this week.
The County Port Authority purchased the 57.86 acre property known as the Midway Mall/Sears Automotive property in January 2023 for $13.9 million.
