Elyria Catholic High School, 725 Gulf Road, released its first President’s Report, highlighting alumni and providing updates on finances and donations within the last year.
One of the focal points of the report is an update on funding for new bleachers at Dan Reaser Stadium.
The report says the school has received $1,050,000 for the project and seeks $150,000 more to be able to complete it.
The issue over new bleachers came up for Elyria Catholic in 2022 when the current ones were deemed unsafe, according to the report.
The temporary solution was for the school was to use rental bleachers for athletic events.
The report promises the stadium soon will have new bleachers of its own thanks to the donations, according to the report.
The report also details donation numbers for the Panther Fund, which goes toward various costs at Elyria Catholic.
The Panther Fund raised $246,158 during the 2022-23 school year, and has raised $199,000 of its goal of $305,000 for the 2023-24 year.
Elyria Catholic President Annie Heidersbach thanked donors in the report.
“I am pleased to share that you, the Elyria Catholic community, have succeeded in taking the Panther Fund to unprecedented levels of giving,” Heidersbach said in the report.
Heidersbach’s said Elyria Catholic’s successful fiscal year will benefit students.
“Together, we have made a significant impact on the lives of our students and the growth of our beloved school,” she said. “With your continued support, I am confident that we will achieve even greater success in the future.”
