Three Elyria men are facing charges of possessing illegal drugs and firearms, according to a news release.
On Jan. 11, the Elyria Police Department, with assistance from the Lorain Police Department, Federal Bureau of Investigations and Bureau of
Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms, served search warrants at 904 Case Ave. and 342 Winckles St., both in Elyria.
The search warrants were issued following an investigation stemming from neighborhood complaints, the release said.
During the execution of the search warrants, investigators seized three firearms, along with suspected crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia, according to the release.
The men arrested were:
• Tyler Jalowiec, 19, who lives on Case Avenue, is facing charges of trafficking in crack cocaine and possessing criminal tools, both fifth-degree felonies; and having weapons while under disability, a third-degree felony.
• Neil Jalowiec, 23, also of Case Avenue, is facing charges of having weapons under disability, a third-degree felony; possession of a controlled substance, a fifth-degree felony; and possession of drug paraphernalia, a fourth-degree misdemeanor.
• Jerry Vickers Jr., 18, of Winckles Street, is facing charges of trafficking in crack cocaine, a fourth-degree felony; trafficking in crack cocaine, a fifth-degree felony; possession of a controlled substance, a fourth-degree felony; and possession of drug paraphernalia, a fourth-degree misdemeanor.
Elyria Mayor Kevin Brubaker commended the Elyria Police Department for conducting the investigation.
“I thank Chief (William) Pelko and his entire staff for their good work today,” Brubaker said in the release. “Your actions just made Elyria safer for all of us.
“And to these criminals I say again: you are not welcome here. This administration will not tolerate criminal activity.”
The Elyria Police Department expresses gratitude for the collaborative support received from the Lorain Police Department, FBI and ATF in carrying out this operation, according to the release.
