Elyria police searching for woman who robbed U.S. Bank branch

Elyria police are looking for a woman they say robbed a branch of U.S. Bank on Dec. 16, according to a news release

At 9:19 am, the Elyria Police Department responded to a reported robbery by a Black woman at the branch located at 455 Midway Blvd., the release said.

Officers were dispatched to the scene after receiving the emergency call.

Upon arrival, officers determined that a female suspect had entered the bank. She had a thin build and her face was covered.

The woman approached a bank teller, indicated that she had a firearm and demanded an undisclosed amount of cash, the release said.

The suspect obtained the money and fled the area on foot.

There were no injuries reported.

The Elyria Police Department is actively investigating this robbery, working to gather additional information and evidence, the release said.
