Crop comments: This is a big week after as there was little movement in the Crop. No. 1 Olmsted Falls and No. 2 Avon Lake will square off, with the Bulldogs putting their 50-plus game Southwestern Conference winning streak on the line. … Olmsted Falls dismantled Avon with a 49-27 victory in which Danielle Cameron reached 1,000 points for career. Avon Lake toppled Amherst, 38-26 in a doubleheader. … Elyria Catholic improved to 4-0 in the Great Lakes Conference West with a 59-48 win against Westlake. … North Ridgeville still has only one SWC loss and defeated Elyria, 79-51, on the road. … Rocky River will have its hands full this week against Magnificat (Jan. 10) and Elyria Catholic (Jan. 13). This came after it defeated Bay, 48-43. … Keystone’s 48-47 victory over Columbia solidified it as the area’s only remaining undefeated team. It also defeated Firelands, 50-34. … Midview lost to potential district contender Strongsville, 66-29, but bounced back to win the McNamara Bowl, 40-29, against Berea-Midpark. … Columbia also had a bounce-back game against Oberlin and won, 65-24.
