The National Alliance on Mental Health (NAMI) Lorain County has announced its next Community Connection programs and its Health and Wellness Series that will feature a series of yoga sessions, according to a news release.
The first session called slow flow yoga will take place at 6 p.m., Jan. 11, the release said.

Slow flow will begin with breath awareness, warmups close to the mat, gradually leading to standing poses, a cool down with yin-style poses close to the mat and finishing with relaxation, the release said.

Yin yoga is done on or close to the ground, according to the release.
This movement is slow and passive, and is accessible to most participants, the release said.
Postures may be held from three to five minutes with a short rebound in between, according to the release.
This practice encourages greater flexibility in the mind and body, allowing a deeper stretch of the muscles and surrounding fascia, the release said.
