After it was on the outside looking last week, Columbia is back in the Division IV state coaches’ volleyball poll.

The Raiders made the debut poll two weeks ago, but were abruptly dropped out last week despite not losing a game. On Sept. 24, they were back in at 13th with 25 points.

Columbia is 15-1 after defeating Oberlin and Clearview this past week to remain undefeated in conference play. Black River and Wellington are this week’s LC8 opponents.

The Raiders are back in, and the three area teams who were in the rankings last week remained.

Open Door debuted last week, and the Patriots are back in Division IV again. The Patriots are ranked 19th with 12 points. They remain unbeaten at 12-0 after wins over Wickliffe, First Baptist and Lake Ridge.

In Division I, both Avon Lake and Avon are back in the poll. The Shoregals moved up to eighth with 128 points. The Eagles stayed at 16th with 30 points.

Avon Lake dropped its first game of the season to Medina Highland on Sept. 23, but won three other games at the Westlake quad. The Shoregals also won two SWC games over North Ridgeville and Midview.

Avon stays at No. 16 after a good week. The Eagles rebounded nicely after the Avon Lake loss on Sept. 14 to win five games this past week. Avon defeated Elyria and North Ridgeville in conference play before winning three games and the tournament in Perrysburg.
