An assistant deputy auditor for the city of Lorain was arrested Sept. 24 on trafficking and possessing narcotics charges.
Mary Koziura, 34, of Lorain was booked into the Lorain County Jail on Sept. 23 after being arrested by Amherst Police Department.
Koziura has been employed by the Auditor’s Office since Aug. 2, according to the city’s Human Resources Department.
Amherst police charged her with trafficking in drugs, possession of drug abuse instruments and two counts of possession of a controlled substance, according to Lorain County jail records.
Koziura also is facing a charge of operating a vehicle without an operator’s license, according to Oberlin Municipal Court records.
She was booked into jail at 7:30 a.m. and released 12 hours later.
The details of the arrest weren’t available as the Amherst Police Department didn’t have the report available to release Sept. 25, said Amherst police Lt. Michael Rosebeck who referred the request for the report to the Records’ Division.
Koziura was arraigned Sept. 25 in Oberlin Municipal Court and couldn’t be reached for comment.
She is scheduled for a hearing Oct. 13.
Auditor Karen Shawver didn’t return calls or an email message for comment.
