Crop comments: Bay and Rocky River hold steady in the top two positions. While Rocky River bested two soccer powers in Indiana on Sept. 1 and 2, Bay hasn’t done anything to lose the top spot, averaging 7.25 goals per game while only allowing three scores in. The top spot in the crop likely will be decided by their Oct. 4 matchup later in the season. … Westlake and Avon each jump one spot to No. 3 and No. 4 respectively, while Firelands drops to No. 5. … Westlake’s young core has matured and is able to play at a higher level, while Avon forced a draw against a tough Anthony Wayne side. Coach Atilla Csiszar’s put together a tough schedule, and his team has done well so far. … Avon Lake, Vermilion and Open Door take up the next three spots. While none of those teams lost, the performance from the top half of the crop didn’t leave any wiggle room for a jump. … Midview and Amherst round out the top 10, with North Olmsted dropping out for Midview.
