Outlook
Clearview looks loaded on both sides of the ball. However, there are still strides to be made in order to make a run for the LC8 championship and the Division V postseason. The defense returns All-Ohioans Keith Colvin, Ayden Cruz, Greg O’Hern and Josiah Longo. The Clippers lost five games that were decided by one possession in 2022. The Week 1 matchup against Toledo Scott will be a game that can set the tone for the 2023 season.
Player to watch: Senior defensive back Keith Colvin was a Division V second-team All-Ohioan back to shut down opposing teams’ aerial assault. Lane intercepted four passes last year and tied single-game school record with three interceptions. Expect him to be an impact player on both sides of the ball at wide receiver as well.
Underclassman to watch
Sophomore Cy Christensen impressed as a freshman starting quarterback. He threw 16 touchdowns against three interceptions and had a passer rating of 100.5. They have great senior leadership at the skill positions to assist him.
Bottom Line
IF: Clearview can perform well in close games, THEN: it should be an LC8 title contender.
