Outlook

Lorain has been a young team over the past couple of seasons under Damion Creel. But the Titans are much older in 2023. The team improved its record by two wins in 2022, and that was despite leaving a couple of winnable games out there. Improvement is expected again this season, and a now veteran team looks to make it happen.

Lorain running back John Salamon

Player to watch

Running back John Salamon is back for another year as Lorain’s bell cow. The senior will get a lot of carries once again as the Titans will try to control the line of scrimmage. Lorain is a run-first team, and it’s hard not to be with a player of this caliber in the backfield.

Underclassman to watch: Quarterback Chase Davis returns under center after taking over in Week 4 of last season. Now with a full offseason under his belt, he looks to take his play to the next level.

Bottom line

IF: The running game can sustain drives to keep Davis comfortable, THEN: Lorain can have a two-dimensional offense and be in a better position to win close games
