Outlook
Midview is in a rebuilding phase as the Middies lost a lot of senior starters, and new coach Jack Armstrong enters the fold. Facing off against the SWC and three GLC nonconference opponents, the schedule doesn’t stand down either. Armstrong is a former assistant and Midview alum, and he’s looking to revive the program.
Player to watch
Dane West is an athlete Midview will rely on at wide receiver and cornerback. The senior is poised to go out with a bang and have a can’t-miss season for the Middies. He became a two-way starter as a junior and posted 26 catches for 309 yards and three touchdowns as a wideout.
Underclassman to watch: One of the returning underclassman starters, Cameron West will have a big impact for Midview. You will hear a lot about West in the Middies’ receiving core and secondary with Dane and Cameron. The younger West will make plays with his versatility.
Bottom line
IF: Midview can get acclimated with its new starters, THEN: Armstrong can build a strong foundation in his first season.
