Outlook

North Ridgeville returns a total of 15 players for the upcoming season. The young players from 2022 are much more experienced and could become dark horses in the Southwestern Conference race. They proved themselves in the playoffs against Anthony Wayne. The bar for North Ridgeville is set higher and it is ready to answer the call.

Player to watch

Shane Osborne plays on the defensive line. He was an impact player, and he slimmed down in the offseason to be much quicker. He is also an accomplished judo grappler, which will immensely help in the trenches. The double teams that he pulls should attract less attention to linebackers Carson Madis and Austin DeShazo.

Underclassman to watch: Running back Zack Barnhart had his rise to fame his freshman year. He was North Ridgeville’s leading rusher with 11 touchdowns. Four offensive linemen come back to pave the way for him, three of whom are underclassmen. His contributions with the ball, along with Charlie Steinmetz, should be a tremendous asset for the quarterback.

Bottom Line

If: The passing game can make plays on critical downs. Then: North Ridgeville could host a playoff game in the Division II Region 6 tournament.
