Outlook

In Jason Hall’s first year back coaching the Demons, Westlake made a return trip to the postseason, albeit shortlived. Still, the experience coming back on both sides of the ball is enviable. Sixteen total starters will be back from 2022, including junior quarterback Sam Brucchieri. Westlake’s star is pointing up this season.

Player to watch

Cooper Rummel will play a big role again from the slot and at safety. A three-year starter and captain, he had a solid junior campaign and will be an important part of the offensive skill group.

Underclassman to watch: Junior Sam Brucchieri is in his second year as the starting signal caller. Expect a jump in performance with a full offseason diving into the playbook.

Bottom Line

IF: Westlake can do a better and more consistent job tackling and running the ball, THEN: A few more wins could come Westlake’s way.
