A pair of junior girls bowlers from Lorain County are headed to the Division II state bowling tournament in Columbus.
Wellington’s Whitney Kirschner was sixth in the individual race, and Firelands’ Mandy Dewitt was eighth as the pair grabbed the last two qualifying spots.
Kirschner had a 575 series and games of 168, 206 and 201. Dewitt had a 564 with games of 193, 170 and 201.
Friends was 10th in the team standings with a score of 2,981. Wellington (2,808) was 12th and Brookside 13th (2,705).
The D-II girls state tournament is set for March 3 at Wayne Webb’s Columbus Bowl in Columbus.
