Emma Nolan of North Olmsted was the district champion on the vault Feb. 25 at the Hudson Northeast District Meet.
Nolan’s score on the vault was an impressive 9.800 en route to the district title.
Nolan was also sixth in the all-around with a score of 36.825. Nolan was eighth on the bars (9.150) and fifth on floor (9.400).
Rocky River’s Emma Maher joined Nolan as the other area gymnast to qualify for next week’s state meet in the all-around. Maher was 12th with a score of 36.600. Maher was the runner-up on beam (9.450) and seventh on floor (9.325).
The top 17 individuals in each event made it to state.
Other area state qualifiers include:
• Fairview’s Tessa Kelly (third on floor, seventh on vault)
• Avon’s Maddie Geiger (16th on vault)
• Olmsted Falls’ Carley Abbott, North Ridgeville’s Lydia Bubar and Firelands’ Caley Bomback, who all qualified on floor
