A 56-year-old man was charged after losing consciousness Dec. 16 and driving his vehicle into two North Ridgeville homes.
The man, whose name was not released, was charged with operating a motor vehicle while impaired, according to a news release from North Ridgeville Police.
About 1:30 p.m., the man was traveling on Independence Boulevard when he lost consciousness and drove off the road striking two houses causing significant damage, the release stated.
“The male was suspected of using opioids and was given Narcan at the scene by first responders. Narcan was able to revive him and he was transported to the hospital,” the release stated.
An officer went to the hospital where the male submitted to a blood test and was subsequently charged with operating a motor vehicle while impaired, the release stated.
