Haiku writing will be featured at an event on Nov. 19 in Sandusky.
The event begins at 1:30 p.m. at Mr. Smith’s Coffee House, 140 Columbus Ave., and is open to the public and is free of charge.
The Firelands Writing Center, which sponsors the Mr. Smith’s Coffee House Reading series, will include author Barbara Sabol who will share haiku from her new book, “Connections,” at the event, the release stated.
Sabol will be joined at the event by the book’s co-author, Larry Smith.
Sabol and other area haiku writers will conduct a brief workshop in which participants will share in writing haiku in a writing chain, called a “renga,” the release stated. Results will be read aloud.
“If you remember and love writing those short three-line poems, here is your chance to share again,” stated a news release from Bird Dog Publishing.
Sabol has authored three books of poetry and edited others.
Her most recently published book was released in October by Bird Dog Publishing and is available online at Amazon and at http://smithdocs.net.
Copies of Connections will be available for signing at the event.
