Midview High School drama students are preparing to bring their talents to the stage and entertainment to the local community, according to a news release.

This year, the district will offer a special daytime showing of its fall play for Midview senior citizens aged 60 and older to enjoy, the release said.

Midview High is located at 38199 W. Capel Road in Grafton.

The students will perform John Cariani’s play, “Almost, Maine.”

Comprised of nine short plays, this romantic comedy explores love and loss in a remote mythical “almost-town” called Almost, Maine.

The play’s official website explains, “One cold, clear Friday night in the middle of winter, while the northern lights hover in the sky above, Almost’s residents find themselves falling in and out of love in the strangest ways.”

The special showing for senior citizens will take place at 11 a.m., Nov. 11, in the Midview High School K Gym.

The event is free of charge and will include lunch during intermission.

Those interested in attending should RSVP to Sue Homoki at 440-748-5343 or shomoki@midviewk12.org.

“Attending a play is a great activity for people of all ages,” said Midview High School Assistant Principal Jean Capacetti in the release. “An incredible amount of work goes into producing a play.

“We want to ensure all residents can enjoy the show at times convenient for them and provide opportunities for our drama students to receive the recognition they deserve.”

Evening and afternoon showings open to the public are set for 7-9 p.m., Nov. 11 and 12, and from 1-3 p.m., Nov. 13.

Tickets can be purchased closer to the showings on the district website.
