For the 15th year, BAS Broadcasting is holding its annual Coats for Caring drive, and the finale event will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Nov. 5, at the Vacationland Federal Credit Union branch office, 2911 Hayes Ave. in Sandusky.

Local radio stations Mix 102.7 WCPZ, WLEC 1450am and 93.5fm and Coast Country 100.9 WMJK are asking
area residents to donate any new or gently used warm coats, jackets, scarves, gloves, snowsuits and sweaters, according to a news release.

The clothes will be cleaned by Just Like Home Laundry, on Tiffin Avenue in Sandusky, and then distributed by Job and Family Services in Erie and Huron County to those in need, the release said.

The Vacationland Federal Credit Union van will be at the main branch to “stuff the van” with winter apparel for both children and adults, according to the release.

Clothing also can be dropped off at Vacationland Federal Credit Union branches in Sandusky, Huron, Norwalk, and Vermilion, and at Mr. Smith’s Coffee House in downtown Sandusky prior to the event.

“We are happy to be part of the Coats for Caring drive again this year,” said Heather Gilchrist of VacationLand Federal Credit Union. “(VacationLand Federal Credit Union) continues to support this drive because no one in our community should be without warm clothing in the winter.”
