As part of its annual Season of Giving, Northwest Bank and its 10 branches across Lorain and Summit counties hosted a linen drive in December to collect twin sheets, pillows and blankets for Good Knights of Lorain County, according to a news release.
Northwest employees and customers donated supplies to provide local children with a warm, comfortable place to sleep before Christmas, the release said.
“At Northwest Bank, we’re committed to giving back to our communities and neighbors,” said Kara Odom, senior vice president and district manager for Northwest Bank, in the release. “Each year through Season of Giving, we partner with a local organization to help those in need.
“This year, we’re grateful for the opportunity to support Good Knights’ mission to get kids off the floor.”
Roger Dorsey, executive director of Good Knights of Lorain County, welcomed the bedding supplies.
“We hear at Good Knights are blessed to have partners like Northwest Bank as part of our village,” Dorsey said in the release. “Each child that receives a bed from Good Knights is told how the community came together to provide the bed, and bedding.
“So thankful for Northwest Bank and their willingness to be part of the village to help get more children off the floor and into their own beds. With over 227 children on our waiting list partnerships like this are vital for Good Knights to fill those.”
