Midview is next on the Southwestern Conference schedule, making it No. 1 vs. No. 2 in the Crop. … The Middies toppled Elyria, 71-41, for a 2-0 start. … Despite a 75-44 loss to Medina, North Ridgeville has started firing on all cylinders. The Rangers defeated Shaker Heights (65-37) and Avon Lake (32-23). … Avon Lake started 0-1 in the SWC. … Amherst defeated Avon in overtime with a half-court shot, 59-56. … The Rangers and Comets will play on Dec. 11. … Avon has a recent win over Rocky River while playing without post Molly Drenik. … Elyria Catholic lost to Division II powerhouse Akron St. Vincent-St. Mary (56-43), but came out with a win at Bay (52-41) … Rocky River bounced back with a 47-21 win over Normandy. The Pirates and Panthers will play on Dec. 13. … Westlake is tied with most wins in the area with Keystone after a 55-45 victory over Berea-Midpark. A Dec. 13 matchup with Magnificat (2022-23 Division I district champion) will be a big game for the Demons and Blue Streaks transfer JaCaia Onunwor. Keystone and Columbia have yet to lose in the Lorain County League. However, the two-time defending conference champion Wildcats get the edge.
