A 34-year-old Elyria man is facing domestic violence charges after he reportedly kneed a woman in her head multiple times during an altercation Dec. 3.
Timothy Young, of the 900 block of Fairwood Boulevard, is facing charges of domestic violence, a fourth-degree felony, and assault, according to an Elyria Police Department report.
At 9 p.m., officers were called to the victim’s friend’s home where the woman fled after being assaulted at her residence, she told police.
The woman told police she was in the living room when Young entered the residence from the garage and he started yelling at her to “get out, get out, get the (expletive) out.”
The victim alleged that when she threatened to call the police, Young said he would kill her, the report stated.
Young then reportedly “cornered her and began shoving her in to the wall, causing her head to strike the wall several times,” the report stated.
The victim stated she received no injuries at this point.
However, Young continued to hold the woman forcing her to the ground into a crouching position and “began striking her in the temple with his knee several times,” the report stated.
The woman told police her head was in pain from being kneed, and at one point, one of the knee strikes caused her to “see stars.”
She then was able to escape to her friend’s house to await the police.
Young was charged with the felony domestic because of a previous domestic violence conviction in another city, the report noted.
Authorities released Young from the Lorain County Jail on Dec. 4 after paying a $5,000 bond, jail records show.
Young is scheduled to appear in Elyria Municipal Court on Dec. 6.
