Let’s Get Real hosts a weekly support group at Lorain County Community College’s Wellington Center for family members and those in recovery from substance use, according to a news release.

The free sessions are scheduled for 7 p.m., Thursdays, at LCCC, 151 Commerce Drive, the release said.

Similar sessions will take place at 7 p.m., Wednesday, at First Church in Oberlin, 106 Main St. Oberlin, according to the release.

“This is an open discussion support group. Group attendees and the facilitator decide on the weekly topics,” said Kim Eberle, executive director of Let’s Get Real in the release. “We use the ‘Finding Your Best Self’ workbook to help guide the group, but the conversation among the group often dictates how much the book is used each week.

“The group is named ‘Let’s Get Real Together’ as we wanted an open group for those in recovery as well as any family or loved ones or anyone struggling and seeking support.”

The sessions started November in Wellington and Oberlin, according to the release.

Thus far, the attendance has varied at both locations from a handful of participants to as many as between 12 and 15 people, the release said.

Let’s Get Real is a 501(c)3 nonprofit recovery community organization founded in 2013 and certified through the state of Ohio, according to the release.

The group provides information, education and resource assistance to families and loved ones in their journey from addition to recovery, the release said.

The sessions are offered in conjunction with Let’s Get Real partners, the Rural Response Network of southern Lorain County and Wellington LINC (Local Initiative Networking Compassion).
