Crop Comments: There is a clear-cut top two with Bay and Rocky River. The Rockets have overwhelmed opponents with All-American Tessa Knapp and recent Dayton commitment Emery Aschenbrener, while Rocky River has been equally impressive in the early going. … Following them are Firelands, Westlake and Avon from No. 3 through No. 5. Firelands returns some of the core from its first-ever conference championship squad and could be a formidable side come postseason. … Westlake has a nice mix of juniors and seniors that should allow them to compete at a higher level while Avon has rebounded following an opening loss to Strongsville. … Avon Lake, Vermilion and Open Door are tough to judge. They could have been mixed around from No. 6 to No. 8, but there’ll be a shakeup in the coming weeks. … Rounding out the Top 10 are North Olmsted and Amherst.
