In the third annual charity golf outing Aug. 19, a group of Huron County first responders and their friends and family raised a total of $4,167 at Millstone Hills Golf Course in New London.
The funds will be distributed with $3,852 going to the Norwalk Area United Fund, and an additional $315 will go to a Norwalk family with a loved one who is battling cancer, according to a news release from Ohio State Highway Patrol Norwalk Post Commander Lt. Tim Hoffman.
This year’s event included 23 teams and 92 golfers, Hoffman said in the release.
The winning team, and returning champions, “Weapons of Grass Destruction,” finished the 18-hole scramble with a 14-under par score of 58, Hoffman said.
The winning team included Joe Andrews, Mitch Cawrse, Brandon Malson and Tyler Weirs.
