The Crushers’ three-game winning streak came to an end Aug. 13 in a 5-3 loss at Florence.
Lake Erie (31-47) fell into a 3-0 hole after two innings but rallied with a run in the third then then two more in the top of the eighth and tied the game at 3.
The Y’alls (33-45) then scored twice in the bottom of the eighth for the eventual winning runs. Brenna Price’s bases-loaded walk put Florence up, 4-3. Hank Zeisler’s sacrifice fly plated another run.
Zach Racusin led Lake Erie’s comeback. He had a sacrifice fly for an RBI in the third, then had an RBI single in the eighth. Hector Roa also singled in a run to tie the game at 3.
Shane Gustafson started for the Crushers and lasted two innings. He allowed three runs. Trevor Kuncl took the loss in relief. Brain McKenna got the win in relief for Florence.
The Crushers return home Aug. 15 to take Schaumburg for the first of a three-game set in Avon.
