The Crushers fell behind by three runs in the first inning and lost their sixth in a row, 4-3 to Windy City on Aug. 2.

Lake Erie’s early deficit was in part because of two errors committed in the first inning. The Crushers rallied with an RBI double by Scout Knotts in the second inning, and a two-run home run by Drue Galassi in the fourth. Galassi’s blast, his fourth of the season, tied the game at 3-3.

The Thunderbolts regained the lead in the seventh inning on a two-out RBI double by Peyton Isaacson. The Crushers went down in order in the eighth and ninth innings to end it.

Lake Erie dropped to 27-41 and is in seventh place in the eight-team Frontier League West. The Crushers will try to get a win out of the series on Aug. 3 at Windy City.
