An Elyria man was indicted June 19 on felonious assault charges.
Joseph F. Huff III, 25, of Elyria, is facing two counts of felonious assault, two counts of menacing by stalking, four counts of domestic violence, two counts of endangering children and single counts of vehicular vandalism and criminal damaging or endangering.
Lorain County Prosecutor Dennis Will said the charges are connected to a March incident in Lorain between Huff and the mother of his child.
Will said the woman was going to work and was dropping the child off to be watched by a friend of hers.
“When she got to that house, Huff was there,” he said. “Because she didn’t want any problems, she tried to leave and he broke out her windshield with a piece of lumber that he found in a trash pile or something.”
When the woman attempted to leave the area with the child in her car, Huff chased her in a car driven by his friend, Will said.
She attempted to pass them and Huff allegedly grabbed the wheel and struck her car with the one he was in, the prosecutor said.
“He fled the scene with his friends and she then contacted the police,” Will said.
Huff is scheduled for arraignment June 27 in Lorain County Common Pleas Court.
