Jersey colors decided for Super Bowl XLVIII
It’s the AFC’s turn to be the home team at the Super Bowl, so the Broncos will wear their home orange jerseys for the Feb. 2 game against the Seattle Seahawks at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J. When the Broncos won NFL championships in the 1997 and 1998 seasons, they wore their home blues while beating the Green Bay Packers in Super Bowl XXXII and their road whites while beating the Atlanta Falcons in Super Bowl XXXIII. Quarterback Craig Morton and the Broncos lost Super Bowl XII to the Cowboys while wearing orange. Denver also wore orange during its third Super Bowl appearance, a loss to the Washington Redskins in Super Bowl XXII. The year before, John Elway’s Broncos lost to the Giants while wearing white in Super Bowl XXI. The Broncos switched their primary home color from blue back to orange in 2011. They have won three consecutive AFC West titles since. Still, Denver has already lost two Super Bowls while wearing orange.
