– Visting Louisville beat the Triple-A Columbus Clippers, 5-4. For Columbus, 2b Zach Walters (.304 BA), who was just obtained from Washington for Asdrubal Cabrera, hit an run-scoring single in the fourth. LF Elliot Johnson (.254) hit his fourth home run, a three-run blast in the fourth. Starter Gabriel Arias (4.10 ERA) went six innings and surrendered five hits and four runs for the Clippers. He walked one and struck out two.
– The Harrisburg Senators topped the visiting Double-A Akron RubberDucks, 3-2. Akron got its two runs in the fifth on 2B Ronny Rodriguez’s sacrifice fly and Tim Fedroff’s single. Rubberducks starter Will Roberts (3.99) went six innings and gave up four hits and only one earned run.
– The Potomac Nationals topped the host high-A Carolina Mudcats, 4-2. 57 CF Todd Hankins (.260) had a run-scoring single in the fourth for the Mudcats. He was later ejected from the game.
– Terrell Joyce hit a three-run walkoff home run for the Tri-City Vallyey Cats as they beat the short-season Mahoning Valley Scrappers, 7-4. 1B Leo Castillo (.267) hit his fourth home run, a solo shot, for the Scrappers and RF D’vone McClure (.242) added a run-scoring double.
