Raymond and Marilyn Bombac, Papillion, Neb., recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.
Bombac and the former Marilyn Koziura were married July 18, 1964, in St. Stanislaus Church, Lorain. The ceremony was officiated by the Rev. Leo Rygwalski.
Raymond served 30 years active duty in the U.S. Air Force.
He is vice president of Cornhusker Flyfishers of Nebraska.
Marilyn retired with over 30 years of Federal Service.
She is president of the American Association of University Women, Omaha.
The couple have three children, Kathleen (Bart) Pester, New Orleans, La., Raymond (Bretta) Bombac, Alexandria, Va., and John Bombac, Omaha.
They have four grandchildren, Sarah and Anna Pester, New Orleans, La., and Lindsay and Brett Bombac, Alexandria, Va.
A party was held July 13, 2014, at Eugene T. Mahoney State Park Lodge, Ashland, Neb. Relatives, neighbors and friends enjoyed a buffet dinner, watched a video of the first 40 years of Raymond and Marilyn’s marriage, and shared stories and fellowship. Out-of-town relatives who attended the celebration in Nebraska include: Louise Shearer (Marilyn’s sister) and nephews Damon and Jon from Seattle, Wash.; Joseph Koziura (Marilyn’s brother) and his wife, Kit, from Lorain; Stan Koziura (Marilyn’s brother) and Doreen Passanisi from Lorain; and nephew Michael Swartz and his wife, Nikki, from Dayton.
