LORAIN – A 77-year-old man called Lorain police after finding a large amount of his belongings were stolen from his home. According to a Lorain police report, officers went to a Meadow Lane home July 23 and spoke to the man who said he left his residence for a short time and during that time his home was burglarized. According to the report, the man told police he left around 11:30 a.m. All of his windows were closed and locked, but the man said that his master bedroom window was closed, but not locked. The man said that when he came home around 2 p.m., he found his garage door open, the report said. He said his belongings were thrown around and many items were missing. According to the report, the man said he was missing the following items: a Samsung television, digital camera, $40 in change, $30 cash, jewelry, two sapphire and diamond necklaces, 18 carat gold and diamond watch, diamond and sapphire earrings, swiss style knife, another television and two gray safes containing personal documents. A handprint was found on the outside glass of the master bedroom window, the report said. According to the report, the two suspects are believed to be in their early 20s. One of them was wearing no shirt and jeans, while the other one donned a white shirt.
