Murata (1-2) tossed seven sharp shutout innings. Carlos Moncrief belted a three-run home run in the first and drove in five runs for Columbus.
– Justin Toole went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI, but the Double-A Rubberducks went 0-for-10 with runners in scoring position in a 6-1 loss at Reading.
– Wisconsin used five hits, four walks and two errors to plate seven runs in the second inning to beat Lake County, 7-4. Richard Stock homered for the Captains Claudio Bautista had an RBI groundout.LHP Luis Lugo (5-8) took the loss.
– Josh McAdams tripled in the second inning to plate Leo Castillo, but that was the extent of the offense for the short-season Single-A Scrappers (16-24) in a 5-1 setback at Williamsport. Austin Fisher went 2-for-3 with a walk for Mahoning Valley.
