Shores & Islands Ohio, the destination marketing organization for Erie and Ottawa counties, has debuted its all-new podcast, The SHORE Line, according to a news release.
The concept was developed by the organization’s marketing and sales team and is hosted by public relations manager Jill Bauer, the release said.
Co-host Dayton Barnett, social media manager, will join Bauer on most episodes, according to the release.
The new program aims to be the definitive podcast about fun attractions and activities, including behind the scenes interviews and local insider tips, for the Shores & Islands Ohio region, the release said.
Guests of the podcast will be destination and attraction partners, event organizers, community representatives, local experts and more, according to the release.
Ottawa Broadcasting LLC/WPCR PortClintonRadio.com will edit and produce the podcast episodes, the release said.
The original idea developed from a weekly segment Shores & Islands Ohio does on WPCR’s Talk at Ten, where Bauer and Greg Peiffer, station president, chat about upcoming events in the region, according to the release.
Ottawa Broadcasting is assisting Shores & Islands with software services for recording, editing, production and distribution of the podcast, while Bauer will research, invite and schedule guests, the release said.
The SHORE Line Podcast launched its debut episode Jan. 15 and is available on a number of streaming services as well as on SHORESandISLANDS.com, the release said.
The inaugural episode can currently be heard on Spotify, Google Play, Amazon, iHeart Radio, Tune In and more.
Episodes should release weekly via an RSS feed on the organization’s website and on these platforms, the release said.
“We’re thrilled to be entering the world of podcasting and using a new medium to reach both potential guests and interested locals,” said Ben Simon, Ohio director of marketing and sales in the release.
Bauer adds that the podcast is an opportunity for marketing the region.
“I’m excited for the opportunity to showcase our amazing area to a new audience. I love listening to podcasts and, while I know there are a number of podcasts about travel in general, there is nothing like this for our region of Ohio,” she said in the release. “Listeners will get tips for visiting and hear directly from business owners, managers, and event organizers what makes this destination so special.”
The second episode will feature Castaway Bay indoor water park resort.
“We felt it important to lead with our indoor water park partners,” Bauer said. “As these cold Ohio temperatures keep us wanting to stay indoors, it’s important to remember we’ve got three amazing locations that boast summer temperatures year-round.”
New episodes will debut on Mondays via the various streaming platforms, the release said.
