During his 10-year tenure as a business manager with Local 129, Baker managed 455 members, according to the release.

He negotiated all contracts and grievances affecting his local union members and worked to develop a harmonious relationship with contractors and the community, the release said.

Baker’s community involvement includes positions as Lorain County Community College Foundation Board trustee, co-chairman of the Lorain County Community College Renewal Levy, Lorain City Schools New Building Committee, Lorain City Schools Business Advisory Committee, St. Agnes Parish Council and Building and Properties Committee, according to the release.

He has volunteered with The Lorain County Office on Aging Food Distribution Program, Lorain International Festival, Lorain County Labor Festival, and other charitable and civic organizations, the release said.
