Dawn Walther announced Dec. 4 that she is a candidate for the position of Lorain County Recorder in 2024, citing her deep commitment to the community cultivated over 32 years of residency with her husband, Jim, according to a news release.
Throughout her career, she has overseen record-keeping systems, including legal records, medical records and confidential documents, according to the release.
She also has experience in the development and training of employees on record-keeping systems, the release said.
“Dawn’s dedication to community service is underscored by her desire to leverage her extensive customer service background for the betterment of Lorain County,” the release said. “Recognizing the pervasive issue of fraud as the primary challenge faced by land record offices nationwide, Dawn underscores the crucial role the Recorder plays in supporting the real estate and legal community in Lorain County.”
The Recorder’s Office serves as a linchpin for residents and businesses.
“Dawn is committed to working diligently to ensure the office delivers high-quality services that both residents and businesses can depend on,” the release said. “At the forefront of her agenda is the protection of families’ most valuable asset — their homes.
“Dawn pledges to make combating fraud a top priority, employing her skills as a problem solver to fortify the integrity of Lorain County’s land records.”
With a keen focus on customer service, Walther aims to enhance the overall experience for those relying on the Recorder’s office, according to the release.
Walther’s husband is a Lorain County Probate Court judge.
